Snowboarder Shaun White just scored some green from the sale of his Los Angeles property—$3.925 million, to be exact. The Wall Street Journal revealed that the three-time Olympic gold medalist offloaded his 1955-built midcentury modern home in April. The abode is in LA’s Outpost Estates neighborhood, which is located high up in the Hollywood Hills and known as a celebrity-favorite gated community. The enclave has attracted the likes of Ben Affleck, Winona Ryder, and Scarlett Johansson.

Though the legendary athlete didn’t make a huge profit on the sale—he scooped it up for $3.75 million in 2018—the three-bedroom, two-bathroom dwelling has brought in some passive income for White; he rented out the space for $17,000 a month over the past year or so.

The single-story house spans a little under 2,000 square feet and is lined with floor-to-ceiling windows that show off far-flung views of the Los Angeles sprawl and Runyon Canyon. A great room painted pristine white features classic post and beam construction and hosts several sitting areas, an open-plan kitchen, and a dining nook. A kidney-bean-shaped swimming pool and a fire pit lounge area make up the backyard.

White, who is, to date, the only Olympic snowboarder to win three gold medals, has been in attendance as a spectator at the Paris games with his girlfriend, The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev. “[She] has never been to the Olympics, so seeing everything through her eyes and experiences has been so much fun,” the California native told Olympics.com. About a year ago, the pair spent $4.3 million on another midcentury modern estate in LA. According to an October 2023 interview with the WSJ, White’s primary dwelling is a ranch in Nevada.

Earlier this summer, the athlete announced that he will launch the Snow League, a winter sports league which touts itself as the “first ever professional league for snowboarding and freeskiing halfpipe competition.”
