PUNE: The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has issued a public notice cautioning against any unauthorized sale transaction relating to old grant bungalows and properties on B-3 land held on leasehold terms without its prior sanction.
Subrat Pal, the CEO of PCB, told TOI, “The notice has been issued after we noticed the illegal sale of old grant bungalows (OGBs) in the PCB limits in the last few years.”
The notice read, “It has been observed that lease and old grant properties on Class B-3 land with Pune cantonment have been transferred and sold unauthorisedly by the lessees/ occupants of OGBs to individuals and builders without the approval of the competent authority/government of India.”
The issue regarding the OGBs came to the fore after the director of Defence Estates (Southern Command) Saurav Ray wrote a letter to the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) to refrain from registering such defence properties in Pune and Khadki cantonments.
