Pcmc Bags 977 Crore In Property Tax In ’23-24 Fy, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate

PUNE: In the twin cities, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) earned its highest revenue ever through property tax in the financial year 2023-24.

Civic officials said the municipal corporation earned Rs977 crore revenue through property tax this fiscal, compared to Rs810 crore collected in 2022-23 and Rs628 crore in 2021-22.

The civic body also earned Rs78 crore through water tax this fiscal, compared to Rs63 crore in 2022-23.

Altogether, it is the highest revenue earned via property and water tax in the history of PCMC.

Further, the civic body earned Rs804 crore through building permissions for this fiscal, compared to Rs670 crore last time. The highest revenue through building permissions was recorded in 2021-22, when the civic body collected Rs1,060 crore.

PCMC commissioner Shekhar Singh told TOI, “The tendering process for integration of property and water tax is underway. Soon, people will be able to pay both together. This will reduce requirement of manpower for the task.” — Alim Shaikh
