PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has released a list of 13 properties to be auctioned on March 28 for property tax default.
This will be the first auction of confiscated properties for tax default by the municipal corporation since its formation. Altogether seven residential and six non-residential properties collectively owe Rs 60.83 lakh to PCMC as tax dues.
Four properties from Wadmukhwadi in Charholi, three each from Nigdi and Tathawade, and one property each from Sangvi, Pimpri and Pimple Nilakh have been put up for auction.
The auction will be carried out between 12 pm and 3 pm at the office of property tax department of the civic body. Those interested in taking part in the process need to register themselves by visiting PCMC office before March 27, said officials.
Civic officials had sent a proposal to the auction committee, led by the additional municipal commissioner, last month to auction 24 confiscated properties for tax default. “The committee has completed evaluation of 13 properties, which will now be auctioned in the first phase. After evaluation reports are received for the remaining 11 properties, they will also be put up for auction,” a senior officer of the property tax department told TOI.
The officer also added that the property owners still have time to retain their properties by clearing the pending dues before March 28.
