NOIDA: Noida Authority has urged owners of all properties — residential, industrial, institutional, commercial, and group housing — with plots of 300 sqm or more, along with AOAs and RWAs of group housing projects, to clean and restore rainwater harvesting (RWH) systems by March 31. Residents were also told to ensure compliance with electric vehicle (EV) charging provisions. From April 1, co-managers of all work circles will begin site inspections to verify compliance.
Rainwater harvesting systems are mandatory for all plots larger than 300 sqm under the Noida Building Regulations, 2010. These systems are required for obtaining building layout plan approvals and occupancy certificates.
According to officials, it has been observed that after an occupancy certificate is issued, the rainwater harvesting system is not kept functional by the building owners, and the purpose of the system is not fulfilled.
Noida CEO Lokesh M has directed the officials of all 10 work circles to carry out surprise inspections of such properties and submit reports. Action will be taken against properties where the system is found to be non-functional, including the possible cancellation of plot allotments under the lease deed and building regulations.
The Authority also emphasised the need for EV charging infrastructure. As per regulations, 20% of parking spaces in new developments must be equipped with EV charging facilities. Surprise inspections will be conducted, and non-compliance will result in action under building bylaws, officials said.
