PM to inaugurate 1 - Virtual inauguration of 1,31,454 housing units in Gujarat, ET RealEstate

GANDHINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate and perform bhoomi pujan of 1,31,454 housing units in Gujarat on Saturday. Chief minister Bhupendra Patel and state BJP president C R Paatil will be present at the state-level function at Deesa in north Gujarat.

Beneficiaries from all the 182 assembly constituencies of the state will attend the event and the PM will interact with them virtually, a statement from govt said on Friday.

It said that citizens from 115 rural assembly constituencies and 67 urban assembly constituencies will remain present for the event. Gujarat is among the top states in the country for implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). One of the goals of Viksit Bharat@2047 is housing for every citizen of the country.

The statement said that under the PMAY, 13.42 lakh housing units have been constructed till date in the state. Of these, 8.28 lakh have been constructed under the PMAY (urban), and 5.14 lakh under the PMAY (rural).

In the ongoing financial year, more than 1 lakh housing units have been constructed in the state under the PMAY (urban), and a provision for 65,000 housing units in urban areas has been set for the year 2024-25, the statement said.
