RAIPUR: CM Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a cabinet meeting on Friday approved proposals for amendment of reorganization orders for five key development authorities and sanctioned a new urban development policy aimed at reorganizing land and implementing development plans.
According to state govt officials, cabinet approved proposals for the amendment of reorganization orders for five key development authorities namely Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authority, Surguja Tribal Development Authority, Scheduled Caste Development Authority, Central Region Tribal Development Authority, and Bastar Region Tribal Development Authority.
This amendment broadens the representation in all five authorities, allowing all cabinet ministers to become members, along with MPs from the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, as well as district panchayat presidents from the respective areas.
The cabinet also approved the disbursement of Rs 4.56 crore from the CM’s discretionary fund to 262 individuals and organizations.
The housing and environment department has been authorized to issue guidelines for the new policy aimed at reorganizing land, which seeks to promote the proper development of land intended for public use, and to discourage encroachments and illegal constructions, while addressing the lack of modern civic amenities in urban areas.
