RANCHI: The municipal corporation has announced an ambitious urban redevelopment plan for the new year, focusing on road repairs, decongestion, and cleanliness.
RMC‘s deputy commissioner Sanjay Kumar said, “Developing and cleaning Ranchi is our top priority. All efforts must be executed within deadlines.”
Key initiatives include a detailed physical survey of roads across all 53 city wards. Teams comprising junior engineers, assistant engineers, ward supervisors, and managers will evaluate the condition of roads and categorise them as “Good,” “Average,” “Poor,” or “Very Poor.” Based on this classification, action plans will be formulated. “We aim to ensure comprehensive road improvements that meet the city’s growing needs,” said Kumar.
A detailed report on roads, side walks, and drainage systems will be prepared within three days to submit to the state govt for guidance. Major intersections and public areas, including parks and monuments, will also undergo maintenance, with a focus on cleanliness drives. “Clean public spaces not only improve the city’s aesthetics but also enhance the quality of life for residents,” said town planner Ram Badan Singh.
To address traffic congestion and encroachments, RMC will launch another drive enforcing strict measures against violators.
Special cleanliness campaigns will also focus on main roads, neighbourhoods, parks, and picnic spots.
