RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) intensified its holding tax collection drive for 2024-25 FY, keeping civic centres operational during holidays, including March 30 and 31 (Eid), to facilitate payments by property owners, officials said.

Taxpayers can clear dues either at designated centres or on www.ranchimunicipal.com. Failure to clear dues by March 31 will incur penalties: 1% in the first week, 2% in second, 3% after a month, and 5% after two months. Non-compliance may lead to legal action, they added.

Assistant municipal commissioner Chandradeep Kumar said “Over Rs 2 lakh were collected, two unlicensed businesses sealed, and notices issued to defaulters during a week-long campaign earlier this year.”

The civic body has collected Rs 74 crore against its Rs 83 crore target for 2024-25 FY, served notices to 1,200 property owners, focusing on 100 major defaulters.
