JAIPUR: Urban development and housing (UDH) department on Tuesday issued a notification to implement a set of bylaws for development promotion and control regulations in all cities of the state. Earlier, these bylaws were applicable only for master plans of cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bhiwadi, and Pali.

“With this, the official process for land uses such as residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, public and semi-public, recreational, etc., will be easily done in the land use map,” said an official.

Officials said the time taken to process change in land use will reduce under the new bylaws, and land conversion and land allotment for community, educational, and medical facilities will be done with transparency.

“As per the notified bylaws, minimum technical standards have been determined while allowing complementary and compatible activities in the main land use. This will not affect the environment of that area, and the general public will also be able to avail the necessary facilities,” another official added. The bylaws give power to local bodies to approve land use changes on basis of minimum technical standard.
