LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority is set to install rooftop solar plants in 14 of its housing societies. Tenders have been issued for the installation of these on-grid solar power plants, with capacities ranging from 10 kW to 200 kW.
The estimated cost for these solar power plants is around Rs 4.5 crore. However, the long-term benefits are substantial, with potential savings of 70-80% on electricity bills.
The authority also plans to install a 50 kW solar power plant at Jyotiba Phule Zonal Park under the Kanpur Road scheme. With these solar power projects, the LDA is taking a significant step toward a greener and more sustainable future for Lucknow.
LDA vice-chairman Prathmesh Kumar said, “The project aims to significantly reduce electricity bills for common areas in these apartments. By harnessing solar energy, the LDA seeks to minimize its environmental impact and provide a more sustainable solution for powering these residential complexes.”
