Gymnastics phenomenon Simone Biles has granted us another peek at the Houston mansion she’s building with her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, and it looks like the gold medalist has an affinity for the timeless black-and-white palette. Biles posted four new images of the dwelling’s interiors via Instagram on Tuesday.

Arguably the most eye-catching design detail that the Olympian shared is of the striking black-and-white stone that she chose for her kitchen countertops, island, and backsplash. Prominent black veining in the marble brings drama to the space—and yes, there is a waterfall edge. While certain trends for the heart of the home, like double islands, or aesthetics like the farmhouse-style kitchen can cycle in and out of favor, we at AD believe the pairing of black-and-white is sure to deliver on everlasting elegance.

Biles opted for white cabinetry to match, but only time will tell what hardware and other finishes the athlete will pick to complete her new kitchen. The classic black-and-white color scheme continues on in another photo Biles shared, which appears to show a laundry room or a pantry. Patterned tiles featuring Art Deco-esque zig-zagging geometric lines cover the walls.

Biles also showcased the home’s staircase, which has come a long way since the September 2023 snap she shared of herself sitting on a far more skeletal version of the steps. Now, the sleek wooden staircase looks to be nearly complete; it features a modern wooden railing with minimal black balusters and a windowed landing. In August, the Ohio native revealed the view from the top: “Walking the upstairs for the first time,” she captioned a photo of the space, sans walls, divulging that the upper floor will host a game room with a wet bar, a theater, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

Biles, who is the most decorated gymnast in history, has shared construction updates since breaking ground on the property in March 2023, one month before her wedding to the NFL star. She won her ninth US Gymnastics Championship this week in Fort Worth, Texas.
