RAJKOT: A land developer from Rajkot was booked for cheating his two partners by selling six parcels of plots outside their knowledge.

The complaint was filed by Jayant Chavda at the Paddadhri police station on Monday naming Shailesh Kamaliya.

Chavda stated that he, along with Bisu Vala and the Kamaliya, purchased land in a village in Paddadhri taluka in 2010. They developed the land and divided it into 42 plots after obtaining permission from the town planning officer. Between 2011 and 2014, they sold 36 plots, and Kamaliya was given the power of attorney to sell the remaining six plots.

“It came to Chavda’s notice in in 2021 that Kamaliya had sold the six plots without the knowledge of the other two partners by using the power of attorney. The plots were sold for Rs 3.58 lakh on paper to Jayesh Davera and within three days of the sale deeds being executed, he himself bought all the plots for Rs 4.41 lakh,” the complaint states.

The partners tried to contact Kamaliya but were unable to reach him. However, they managed to contact Davera, who revealed that he had never purchased these plots. “He allowed to use his name for the land deal in friendship,” the FIR states.
