Submit Stability Cert For Alterations In Chb Houses, ET RealEstate

CHANDIGARH: Taking strong note of alterations carried out in CHB houses, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has served notices on the house allottees in a few sectors to furnish structural stability certificate within a period of 15 days.

Residents of Sectors 41A, 41D, 45C, 45D, 46, 47C, 39B and 29B have been asked to get the structural stability of their dwelling units assessed from the structural engineers empanelled with the Chandigarh administration for the additions/alterations carried out by them and submit the certificate to the Chandigarh Housing Board at their own cost.

“The report to be submitted by the structural engineers should be accompanied by the design calculations and any other documentary evidence. The structural design of the dwelling units constructed by CHB is already available on the CHB website (chbonline(dot)in),” the notice read.

The structural data/details of the construction/additional alterations done in the dwelling unit by the allottees themselves are to be provided to the empanelled structural engineer for assessing the overall structural stability.

“The petitioners of CWP No: 17382 of 2017 (O&M) and connected cases are residents of Sectors 41A, 41D, 45C; 45D, 46, 47C, 39B and 29B, Chandigarh are requested to submit the structure stability report to the Chandigarh Housing Board on or before March 31,” the notice said.

Earlier, the CHB had issued individual and public notices to the allottees of the Sector 41A duplex houses.

It had issued public notices Sept 25, 2022; Jan 22, 2023; and Aug 2, 2023; and latest in Sept 2023. In the notice, all the allottees/concerned persons in the duplex flats in Sector 41A, Chandigarh were directed to remove the building violations and rectify their dwelling units within the prescribed time limit failing which the exercise would be undertaken by the Chandigarh Housing Board at the risk and cost of the allottees/concerned persons.
