LUCKNOW: The state urban development agency (SUDA) has terminated the contracts of nine CLTCs (city level technical cells), the agencies that work as extended arms of the central govt to deliver subsidies under PMAY Urban 2.0, over laxity while discharging their duties.

The CLTCs were unable to support the urban local bodies and find eligible beneficiaries for the second phase. These CLTCs were given the target of filling up 2,500 applications in bigger cities and 1,500 in towns.

The director of the agency acted against Nitin Saxena in Farrukhabad, Mushir Siddiqui in Aligarh, Arjun Singh in Chitrakoot, Saurabh Singh in Kushinagar, Ranjan Chaudhary in Kanpur, Saroj Pathak in Hapur, Rajnish Patel in Balrampur among others.

Officials said those looking for a housing unit under the scheme or the ones intending to claim a subsidy to construct their first house within urban centres will have to wait for some time to register under the scheme through the online portal.
