KANPUR: On the lines of Kanpur City, Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) will also develop a township in Bingawan in Kanpur’s South.
A survey for the township to be developed in 60 hectares in Bingawan has already been completed. For the proposed township 24 hectares of land will be purchased while the remaining land belongs to KDA.
The committee, headed by the KDA secretary, has completed the survey and submitted the report to the engineering department to draw an outline of the plan.
Compensation to be paid for the land will be double of the DM circle rate.
“Preparations are being made to develop the Bingawan Residential Scheme in front of Naubasta Galla Mandi on Kanpur-Sagar Road. The government has allocated Rs 50 crore to purchase land from farmers,” informed vice-chairman of KDA Madan Singh Garbyal.
KDA sources informed that besides the plots, flats will be constructed for the people of EWS category in this township. To provide housing to every class, 1500 plots are being brought under the scheme. Apart from this, 600 flats will be constructed on the ground floor and on the two-storey building. Space will also be marked for school, garbage dump and nursing home. A sewage treatment plant will also be constructed in the township.
