HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) assistant planning officer Sudheer Kumar Madhavaram on the condition that he will be available to investigators for the next eight weeks.

Justice Juvvadi Sridevi gave the order while hearing the anticipatory bail plea filed by Sudheer Kumar who feared arrest after an FIR was lodged against him following a complaint by Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) a month ago.

Sudheer Kumar was facing allegations of being a part of the conspiracy that allowed encroachment of land within the full tank level (FTL) of Errakunta pond at Pragathinagar in Nizampet and allowing constructions.

The judge, while dealing with a criminal petition filed by another official, posted the hearing to Oct 22. In this case too the complainant was HYDRAA.

The petition was filed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) deputy commissioner (Chandanagar) Nandagiri Sudhamsh. The allegation is that he had issued building permissions and occupancy certificate ignoring the advice of the irrigation department which indicated that these permissions violated the FTL of Erla Cheruvu.
