TRICHY: Trichy corporation has introduced unified payments interface (UPI) option for property owners and residents to pay taxes.
So far, only net banking option was available for the taxpayers paying online using Tamil Nadu Urban eSevai mobile application.
Now, the local body has informed that UPI option has been introduced for the taxpayers to transfer money at ease from their mobile phones or other gadgets.
After furnishing the mobile number and creating an account, residents can use the eSevai app to provide their assessment number and generate the bill amount to be paid.
Property, water charges, non-revenue taxes, underground drainage user fee, and professional tax can be paid through the UPI payment option.
Officials said that residents can also visit the tax collection offices in all five zones to pay their tax dues. Corporation has planned to intensify the collection of property tax including arrears before March.
