VADODARA: The standing committee of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will consider a proposal to take action against a suspended executive engineer for irregularities in a housing draw in 2021.

Executive engineer Pramod Vasava of the affordable housing cell of VMC was accused of making changes to the list for the draw for 382 affordable housing units conducted on Aug 7, 2021. An offence was registered against Vasava, and he was suspended.

A departmental inquiry was initiated and found him guilty of one of the two allegations and partially responsible in relation to another allegation. The proposal to act against Vasava was brought before the standing committee for the first time on June 9, 2023. It has been pending before the committee since then.

After the committee clears the proposal, it will have to be placed before the general board for its nod. The standing committee will meet on Friday.
