One year after submitting its development permit application to the City of Port Moody in Greater Vancouver, Wesgroup Properties is launching sales for its first condo tower, 1 Market Square, at the master-planned Inlet District.
1 Market Square is to deliver 299 new condominium units in a 27-storey tower, as well as a grocery store and daycare to the neighbourhood. It will also feature a suite of amenities for residents which include a synthetic ice rink and indoor sports courts.
“The launch of 1 Market Square is the culmination of six years of work to bring a new, transit-oriented, master-planned community to Port Moody,” Joey Coupland, the vice-president of sales at Wesgroup, said in the announcement this week. “In designing Inlet District, we have incorporated a host of new amenities – including retail, childcare, office space and a new park – that will benefit not just residents, but the whole community.”
The transit-oriented development is located steps away from the Inlet Centre SkyTrain Station.
Inlet District Phase 1 to include three buildings
1 Market Square is the initial offering of the first of four phases which are planned for development at Inlet District.
The first phase will also see a second residential tower built as well as a four-storey office building. Timing has yet to be announced for those buildings.
In an exchange of emails with RENX, a Wesgroup spokesperson said no decision has yet been made on whether the second tower will also be a condo building, or whether it will offer rental apartments. It is to contain 288 housing units.
The office tower is to comprise about 30,000 square feet of space.
1 Market Square offers a range of floor plans from studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom homes ranging in size from 445 to 1,340 square feet. Interior finishings will include laminate flooring, quartz countertops, induction cooktops, blackout blinds in bedrooms, and energy-efficient heating and cooling.
The Well amenities area
Wesgroup says the “cornerstone” of the first phase will be The Well – a 27,000-square-foot amenity space including to a gym, yoga studio, swimming pools, the sports courts and synthetic ice rink, as well as a co-working space, music bar with vinyl library, adults’ and kids’ lounges, and movie room.
Two levels of in-building amenities include a rooftop lounge, outdoor cooking area, games room, off-leash dog play area and private guest suites.
“We want to build communities where residents can grow and thrive – and wellbeing is a key part of that,” Coupland said in the announcement. “In designing The Well, we made sure to include a variety of spaces that will allow residents to exercise, play, entertain and unwind right at home.”
Pricing starts at $450,900 and the building is expected to be completed in mid-2029. The Inlet District presentation centre is located at 2541 Clarke St.
Four additional towers and three low-rise buildings are planned for subsequent phases at Inlet District, along with a second daycare centre and a 2.5-acre park.
Inlet District is to add 2,587 new homes to Port Moody at full build-out.
