Where Does Channing Tatum Live? A Peek Inside the ‘Magic Mike’ Star’s Real Estate Portfolio

Architectural Digest logo

Where does Channing Tatum live? The star’s houses reflect his ever-evolving aesthetic. The Hollywood mainstay, who stars opposite Scarlett Johansson in Fly Me to the Moon, in theaters now, and will appear in his girlfriend Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, later this month, has shown his versatility on the big screen over the years, appearing in romantic comedies like She’s The Man, action flicks like G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, thrillers like The Hateful Eight, and animated films like The Lego Movie. That’s not to mention, of course, the dance films he’s perhaps best known for, including the Magic Mike trilogy and the Step Up movies, as well as his work behind the scenes as a producer. All to say that Tatum isn’t afraid to try his hand at new ventures, and that includes a wide array of homes over the years. Below, we’re sharing a glimpse into his residences, including a Beverly Hills home with quite the unexpected celebrity pedigree.

Laurel Canyon house

Tatum famously met his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, on the set of 2006’s Step Up. The pair began dating shortly after that, with the actor surprising her with a proposal while they were on a trip to Hawaii in September 2008. That same year, the couple purchased a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Laurel Canyon for an undisclosed amount. Built in 1927, the open-living-style pad measured 2,538 square feet, with a curved teak staircase, a wine cellar, a swimming pool, and an outdoor fireplace. Photos of the property also reveal a separate guesthouse. The pair held onto the property through their first few years of marriage, including the birth of their daughter, Everly, in 2013, before selling it off-market for $2.67 million.

Tribeca town house rental

By 2012, Tatum was in hot demand, releasing three films in one year: The Vow, opposite Rachel McAdams; 21 Jump Street, with Jonah Hill; and Magic Mike. (Incidentally, 2012 was also the year that the actor was crowned People’s Sexiest Man Alive.) With his busy work schedule and new opportunities, including hosting Saturday Night Live, Tatum decided to rent a spot in New York City so he could have a home base on the East Coast. The actor went for a more rustic feel this time around, settling into a five-story, 3,231-square-foot town house in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood. The redbrick home was originally built in the 1830s and was allegedly used to make antiseptic soap during the Civil War, according to reports. The town house included two bedrooms, with original oak beams and steel-and-pine stairs adding to the pad’s industrial feel. The Dog actor only stayed there for the summer, however, and it’s unclear how much he paid for the rental, but Curbed reported that over the years it has been listed for various amounts ranging from  $18,000 to $35,000 a month. In 2015, the home hit the market for $6.5 million.

Beverly Hills abode

Two years after welcoming their daughter, Everly, Tatum and Dewan purchased a $6 million mansion in Beverly Hills. Their neighbors included Harry Styles (next door) and Lisa Vanderpump (across the street), with other A-listers like Demi Moore, Jessica Alba, and Jon Voight living nearby. Most notably, however, the six-bedroom Cape Cod–style residence that they picked up previously belonged to the late Carrie Fisher, a.k.a. Princess Leia in Star Wars. The three-floor, 4,853-square-foot structure was originally built in 1950 but was completely renovated in the ’70s (Fisher lived there in the ’90s). Features included a gourmet kitchen, an “artist studio,” a two-level wraparound deck, and a pool with an elevated spa, as well as a pergola lounge with a stone fireplace. Many of the home’s common living spaces had French doors that opened to the outdoor spaces, which included gardens and oak trees. Alas, the Hollywood fairytale wasn’t meant to be: The pair called it quits on their marriage in 2018 and listed their dually owned home for $6 million in early 2021. It sold for $5.9 million several months later.

Brentwood farmhouse

Amid the couple’s split, both Tatum and Dewan started their separate lives with the purchase of new homes. While Dewan opted for a modern Encino mansion, Tatum once again went for a more rustic vibe, picking up a midcentury farmhouse in Brentwood for $5.6 million in 2021. The two-bed, three-bath, 3,300-square-foot main house dates back to the 1950s, and images of the interior reveal vaulted ceilings and skylights that offer ample natural light to the largely wooden space (the floors, the walls, and the ceilings in many cases are comprised entirely of wood, with what appears to be a wall made of stone in the kitchen). The family room even has a brick wood-burning fireplace to add to the authentic rustic flair of the space. A lagoon-style swimming pool and sports court can be found outdoors, and a detached guesthouse rounds out the property’s offerings. Tatum still owns this farmhouse.
