NEW DELHI: Continuing action against illegal constructions in various areas, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) claimed to have razed 131 buildings, sealed 35 complexes, and taken action against illegal plotting or colonisation at 10 places in Feb, to free up 18 acres of land.

These actions have been taken in Dera, Mandi, Bhati, Chattarpur, Jonapur, Jaitpur, Mithapur, Burari, Narela, Bhalaswa, Kadipur, Alipur, Jindpur, Bhorgarh, etc. MCD claimed that such stringent actions could be expected in the coming days too.

“The demolition has mainly targeted agricultural or vacant land where illegal plots or colonies were raised, attracting ignorant citizens to buy plots at cheaper rates. The actions are meant to spread a message among unscrupulous builders to abide by the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, Master Plan 2021 and Unified Building Bye-Laws 2016,” officials said. tnn
