Ahmedabad civic body's revenue committee approves property tax incentive rebate scheme, ET RealEstate

AHMEDABAD: The meeting of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation‘s (AMC) revenue committee on Tuesday approved the proposal for the property tax incentive rebate scheme. Citizens who pay their outstanding property tax between March 14 and March 31 will get an interest rebate.

Residential properties will get a 100% interest waiver, while commercial properties will get a 75% interest waiver. The AMC announces the scheme annually on March 1. It is estimated that the scheme will generate over Rs 250 crore in revenue.

As of March 11, 2024, the AMC collected Rs 1,532.76 crore in property tax for the year 2024-25, along with Rs 238.24 crore in the form of professional tax and Rs 211.80 crore from vehicle tax collection.
