BOKARO: Deputy commissioner Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao expressed strong dissatisfaction over the negligence and sluggishness displayed by circle officers in handling land mutation cases across various blocks in the district.

Following this, a show cause notice was issued to the circle officers of all nine blocks, along with their respective revenue sub-inspectors and circle inspectors.

The officials were directed to provide a detailed explanation to the office within 24 hours of receiving the notice.

The DC stated that during the review of mutation applications on the JharBhoomi portal, numerous irregularities were observed. Several applications remained pending for prolonged periods, while many others were arbitrarily rejected without valid reasons.

Additionally, violations of Section 15 of the Bihar Tenants Holding (Maintenance of Records) Act, 1973, were noted in certain cases, raising serious concerns about procedural compliance.

“I have strong displeasure over the mounting number of unresolved mutation applications. Clear instructions regarding adherence to the Jharkhand State Service Guarantee Act, 2011, were issued. Despite the directives, the failure to process mutation applications promptly and transparently reflects poorly on the work efficiency of the concerned officials,” said the DC.
