NOIDA: Noida Authority has issued notices to developers of the Sports City projects, directing them to clear outstanding dues within a month, in compliance with Allahabad high court‘s recent orders.
The dues include pending premiums, interest on premiums, penalty interest, lease rent, the 64.7% additional compensation amount and time extension fees. Developers who fail to make the payments within the stipulated time will face further action as per the court’s directives.
Additionally, the court barred developers from creating third-party rights through bookings until they complete the sports facilities mandated under the original project plan.
Notices regarding this restriction have been sent to lead developers and consortium partners. The HC also prohibited the original lessees and sub-lease holders from selling land or making any change into CIC (change in constitution) through changes in shareholding until the completion of sports facilities in the first phase.
Meanwhile, the authority has set up a four-member committee to examine and pursue cases related to the HC orders on Sports City projects.
The HC on Feb 24 ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate probe into three of the four Sports City projects, citing financial irregularities and a “dirty nexus” between developers and Noida Authority officials.
The division bench of Justices Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Prashant Kumar delivered 10 separate judgments exposing land use violations, financial misconduct, and failure to develop promised sports infrastructure.
