Housing allotted to tribals in PVTG villages to be completed by March 2026: ASR collector, ET RealEstate

VISAKHAPATNAM: Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district collector A S Dinesh Kumar said that the housing allocated to eligible tribals in all PVTG (particularly vulnerable tribal groups) villages under the PM Jan Man scheme will be completed by Mar 2026.

The collector provided these details during the PM Jan Man conference held in New Delhi. Through a power point presentation, the collector elaborated about the implementation of the scheme in the district, explaining the challenges faced in construction and the steps being taken to overcome them.

“As many as 25,578 houses are required for PVTG households in the district, of which 23,766 houses have been sanctioned, and 226 have been completed. The remaining houses are in progress. Regarding road construction, the target is to build 576 roads. 146 roads been sanctioned in 178 residential areas. New buildings for 28 Anganwadi centres, which were previously set up in rented buildings, have been sanctioned and 61 new Anganwadi centres have been approved,” said Dinesh Kumar.

“Under the Jal Jeevan mission, new water connections have been sanctioned to 1,660 PVTG villages, and 257 villages have been provided with full drinking water facilities. The district has sanctioned 59 multi-purpose centres, and construction work has begun for 57 centres, with 27 centres already completed,” the collector added.
