NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday carried out a major demolition drive against illegal shops that had come up on its huge land in Khirki Extension area, next to Malviya Nagar. A senior official said a drive to remove the encroachment on this land had been scheduled for a long time. “Illegal constructions were removed by the land management department. We have recovered our land and will now do fencing, if required, and install boards at the site to ensure no encroachment happens here again,” said the official. TNN
