Exclusive: Bengaluru Extends 5% Property Tax Rebate Till July

BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath issued a circular on Wednesday stating that the Palike’s revenue officials would be busy with election duty and may not be available to create challans, provide information, or provide guidance to taxpayers.

BENGALURU: On account of Lok Sabha polls and other reasons, BBMP has extended till July-end the 5% rebate offered to those paying property tax for the year 2024-25. By default, BBMP offers 5% rebate to those paying tax till April 30.

BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath issued a circular on Wednesday stating that the Palike’s revenue officials would be busy with election duty and may not be available to create challans, provide information, or provide guidance to taxpayers.

Also, he stated that there would be more public holidays in April and it may inconvenience taxpayers. Considering all this, the civic body has extended the rebate facility till July 31.
