NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi claims to have removed nearly 18,000 metric tonnes of construction and demolition waste from various parts of the city in Oct. The drive was implemented to address the growing concerns surrounding C&D waste accumulation and to mitigate sources of air pollution.
Mayor Shelly Oberoi stated, “Under the guidance of former CM Arvind Kejriwal, MCD remains committed to improving the lives of Delhiites by implementing citizen-friendly measures. By geo-tagging waste clearance sites, AAP-led MCD has enhanced transparency and accountability, ensuring precise data on waste removal across each location. We will continue to clear C&D waste from all over Delhi, and residents can report instances on the MCD311 app to get waste lifted from their surroundings.”
