AHMEDABAD: In a flurry of pre-auction activity, the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) was busy engaging top real estate players and investors from around the world.

This strategic push was detailed in the annual audit report presented to the SRFDCL board on Sep 6, just before the Request for Proposal (RFP) was announced for the auction of two prime plots. The riverfront project, spanning 204.91 hectares, is set to make a significant impact.

“Various meetings and discussions are ongoing with the following key developers and fund houses, including K-Raheja, Godrej Properties, Xander Group and Lodha Group, among others,” said the SRFDCL report. Plans are underway to connect with chapters of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India(CREDAI) across India, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and NCR, says the report.

The report outlines a recent whirlwind tour of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where SRFDCL officials met with leading figures in real estate and hospitality. Key discussions included meetings with the Kerzner Group, Atlantis Properties, and Sobha Group, as well as a roundtable with IBPC members under the Construction Real Estate (CRERS) Focus Group. “Additionally, a meeting took place with the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD),” said the SRFDCL report.

The report added, “The team met Group CEO of EMAAR Group and visited Downtown Dubai, including Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Meetings were also held with JLL/Landmark Group and the Group CEO of MIRAL Group in Abu Dhabi, which included a facility visit to Ferrari World to understand their development strategies.”

To boost marketing efforts, SRFDCL will produce dedicated audiovisual films for each of the seven value zones, featuring drone footage to highlight the land parcels and surrounding developments. “The state govt approved a special land disposal policy for SRFDCL on June 25, modelled after GIFT City. This policy is expected to streamline development processes and attract further investment,” states the report.

In addition to these initiatives, SRFDCL is focusing on enhancing its brand identity, including a redesign of the Sabarmati Riverfront logo and a new visual identity for the project.
