RAIPUR: During the Question Hour in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Monday, BJP MLA and former minister Rajesh Munat raised concerns over the Raipur city master plan, questioning the complaints received and the actions taken in response.

Replying to the queries, finance minister OP Choudhary acknowledged that complaints regarding the master plan were received and informed the House that a committee was constituted to investigate the matter.

Munat further alleged that several residential areas in Raipur were converted for commercial and educational purposes without following due procedures. Addressing this issue, Choudhary assured that such complaints were also under investigation.

The BJP MLA also sought details of officials involved in drafting the master plan. In a written response, the minister provided a list of 15 officials, including IAS officers Jaiprakash Maurya, Sandeep Bagde, Bhanu Pratap Singh Patel, Kamal Singh, Rosie Sinha, and Megha Chavda.

The discussion sparked a serious debate in the Assembly, raising the possibility of corrective measures being taken to address the alleged irregularities in Raipur’s master plan.
