LUCKNOW: Lucknow Development Authority on Wednesday sanctioned a budget of Rs 3.5 crore for upgradation and beautification work in its four high-rise societies — Parijat, Srishti, Smriti, and Anubhuti apartments.

The announcement was made by LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar.

A skating rink and a skateboarding bowl will also be constructed in the Lohia Park in Gomtinagar at a cost of Rs 1.3 crore.

LDA chief engineer Avanindra Kumar Singh said Rs 93 lakh has been allocated for civil works at Parijat Apartment in Gomtinagar’s Vikrant Khand. “This includes exterior painting, the construction of a new 31-metre boundary wall along the service road of the Ayodhya National Highway, and the installation of a new 6-metre gate at the rear of the apartment to improve access and security,” he said.

Waterproofing work will be done in Srishti Apartment in Sector-J, Jankipuram Extension, to address water seepage and leakage issues in the basement parking area during the monsoon season. A budget of Rs 1.58 crore has been approved for this project.

Smriti Apartment will receive around Rs 15 lakh for the installation of motors, power backup, intercom systems, CCTV cameras, swings, and benches in the park. At Anubhuti Apartment in the Aliganj scheme, a 135-metre boundary wall will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 39 lakh, along with the development of a park at the rear of the apartment, which will include dustbins, benches, and horticulture works.

LDA has also initiated tenders for the development of an underground irrigation system along the Gomti Riverfront, spanning from the stadium to Lohia Bridge (LHS) and from the ADCP office to Gomti Barrage (RHS). This project, estimated at Rs 2 crore, will install underground pipelines, sprinklers, and pop-ups for regular irrigation of trees and plants.

Additionally, a 50-kilo watt solar power plant will be installed at Jyotiba Phule Zonal Park in the Kanpur Road scheme at a cost of around Rs 25 lakh. Road safety and black spot works will also be carried out on 30-metre, 24-metre, and 18-metre-wide roads in Sector-J of the Basant Kunj scheme, with an estimated budget of Rs 98 lakh.
