LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Friday announced that the allocation of 292 plots in the Transportnagar scheme may be cancelled due to the absence of official records.

The LDA has now asked the current occupants of these plots to submit allocation-related documents. These documents will be verified, and if found valid, the plot will remain with the current occupant. However, failure to submit documents within a month will lead to the plot being declared vacant and sold through an e-auction.

LDA’s additional secretary, Gyanendra Verma said that the Transportnagar scheme was launched in 1980 and comprises approximately 1,900 plots ranging from 50 to 1,000 sqmt, mostly used for warehouses and agencies. A recent investigation into 17 alleged fraudulent registrations revealed that 13 of them were fake, prompting the LDA to file an FIR. This incident, coupled with demands from residents to convert plots into freehold, led to an internal review, uncovering the lack of records for 292 plots.

Following instructions from LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar, a public notice has been issued, urging occupants to submit original documents related to the disputed plots. The list of these plots has been uploaded on the LDA website, and hoardings have been installed at various locations in Transportnagar to spread awareness.

Occupants must submit documents within a month of the public notice. Verified documents will secure the ownership of the plots, while those without valid claims will lose their allocation rights, and the plots will be auctioned online. Responsibility for any discrepancies will rest with the occupants.
