NASHIK: The civic body has set a Feb 28 deadline for taxpayers to register objections about various details related to their properties.

There are around 5.6 lakh properties registered with the property tax department of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). The civic administration has made available a “property registry” in each of the six divisional offices of the NMC.

Taxpayers may confirm their details in the registry to ensure whether the assessment — including name of the owner, propert address, correction in names of the owners — carried out by the civic body is correct.

The taxpayers can also raise concerns about the tax bills or issues like change in use of the properties.

An NMC official, while talking to the TOI, said the property tax department will continue with the details in the registry as it is if property owners do not raise any objection before the deadline.

Moreover, property owners would have to clear all their tax dues before filing the objections.
