Nicolas Cage Scoops Up $10.5 Million Malibu Beach House

Architectural Digest logo

Nicolas Cage is the new owner of a $10.5 million glass-walled Malibu beach house, the New York Times reports. The Longlegs star seems to be dipping a toe back into the real estate pool after a string of lavish property purchases he made around the 2008 housing crash left him with deep financial woes. The Oscar-winning actor, who began filming three to four movies a year to settle his debt, has resided in Vegas since 2006—owing in part to the fact that Nevada has no state income tax on individuals. Now that Cage has paid off what he owed, it appears he’s ready to invest in a beachside getaway.

The contemporary-style 1994 build, which spans approximately 4,000 square feet, features four bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also offers direct beach frontage, which was reportedly a draw for the Dream Scenario star. Ample lounge space, a dining table, and a blue-tiled hot tub are all found on the dwelling’s rooftop deck—a rarity for the California enclave, due to local building restrictions.

The home is accessed via a courtyard that leads to a spacious patio with an ocean view. Nearby, an attached two-car garage outfitted with an elevator services the residence’s four levels. On the first floor, a fireplace-warmed living room is lined with floor-to-ceiling glass, offering expansive views of the crashing waves. Upstairs, an eat-in chef’s kitchen with updated appliances is centered around a curvy black-and-white island that mimics the wavy silhouette of the dwelling’s upper floor façade. On the third level, the primary suite hosts a private deck, a fireplace, and a ’90s-chic bathroom equipped with a sunken bathtub and dusty-rose-colored tilework.
