GURUGRAM: In another crackdown on unauthorised constructions and illegal commercial activities in residential properties, the district town planner (enforcement) of the town and country planning department issued show-cause notices to 258 properties in DLF phase 1. The enforcement team initiated the process of affixing these notices on the identified properties.
Earlier, a survey of 3,658 properties in DLF phase 1 revealed violations in 301 houses. According to the department, these violations pertain to unauthorised construction and misuse of residential spaces for commercial purposes.
As per an affidavit filed by the department in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, over 4,000 properties across DLF phases 1 to 5 were identified for similar violations. Notices are being issued, and the process is nearly complete in phase 1.
DTP (enforcement) Amit Madholia said that DLF phase 1 comprises 43 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) plots and 3,615 general category plots. Of these, violations were found in 20 EWS and 281 general category properties.
Notices were served to 20 EWS and 238 general category properties, while 29 cases are currently sub judice with a stay on action.
