NEW DELHI: With less than a month left for this financial year to end, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has intensified its efforts to cross the last year’s property tax collection figure of Rs 2,417 crore. Property tax offices will remain open on all Saturdays and Sundays, except gazetted holidays, till March 31.
So far, MCD has collected Rs 1,811 crore as property tax from nearly 11.5 lakh taxpayers. Last year,13.2 lakh taxpayers had paid property tax.
“We are making concerted efforts to facilitate property taxpayers in filing their taxes, geotagging their properties, and registering properties to generate UPIC through meetings & camps. We request them to come forward and avail 2% rebate on online payment (up to Rs 10,000),” said an MCD official.
“We have also uploaded videos on MCD’s YouTube channel to help the taxpayers.”
