INDORE: Indore district administration has issued notification of survey of Residency area to help prepare new record of rights of this prime and historic land that is spread over 1,000 acres.

According to collector Asheesh Singh, the entire Residency Area is un-surveyed and it has government and some private land. The documents of the same, however, were not properly maintained which was stopping the administration from carrying out appropriate use of government land besides creating some disputes too.

“We have completed land survey of Residency Area and after first notification, the process of new record of rights will be initiated,” he said.

ADM Sapna Solanki said that with issuing notification of the land survey of Residency Area, the occupants and other affected persons have been urged to deposit documents of their claims and objections at Room 112 in the collectorate between Feb 15 and March 1 (from Monday to Friday) for examination.

“After examining the documents, a new record of rights of land will be prepared, in which names of all account holders, their shares, responsibilities and easement rights will be recorded along with preparing ‘Nistar Patrak’ and ‘Wajib-ul-Arz’ for villages. All those persons, who may be affected, are expected to be present in their area during the said survey operations and cooperate with the officials concerned,” she said.

According to the sources, the administration’s plan is to free government land that may have been encroached upon along with preparing records of the same as per the use, including residential, commercial and green belts, to help ensure their proper utilization.

Residency area has residences of senior administrative, police and other officials along with Residency Kothi, which was developed during the British rule, Jawaharlal Nehru stadium and some educational institutions.
