AHMEDABAD: Encouraged by the success of its recent land auction, the civic body has decided to hold another one, to sell five plots. Two new ones, and three that had gone unsold in the Jan auction.

The civic body announced that these plots will have a cumulative reserve price of Rs. 647.62 crore. The five plots on the block are in Vatva, Thaltej, Bodakdev and Vastral. The plots in Thaltej and Vatva are zoned for residential purposes while the other three are for commercial purposes in Bodakdev and Vastral.

The civic body started registering bidders on Wednesday and the last date to register is Feb 21. Three plots will be auctioned on Feb 27 and two on Feb 28.

On January 31, the AMC sold two of its plots for Rs 109.65 crore. In that auction, five of the eight plots on the block were sold, for a total of Rs 298.65 crore.

In its January auction, the civic body had sold a 6,657 square metre commercial plot in Makarba for Rs 1.51 lakh per sq meter, against the base rate of Rs 1.5 lakh. The civic body got Rs 100.52 crore for that plot. tnn
