HYDERABAD: The state govt instructed district collectors to clear the pending 2.45 lakh Dharani applications between March 1 and 9 in a special drive at tahsildar offices.

Principal secretary (revenue) Navin Mittal, who is also chief commissioner of land administration, asked the collectors to constitute 2-3 teams in every tahsildar office limits to scrutinise, undertake field inspections and prepare reports.

The teams will consist of surveyors, agriculture extension officers and panchayat secretaries.

Necessary training should also be given to these officers to take up disposal of the pending applications, he said adding that the teams should give information to the applicants through phone, WhatsApp or SMS.

“The teams should verify the applications, documents submitted along with the applications and also land records — Sethwar, Khasra pahanis, Seesala pahanis, old pahanis, 1B register, and others. They should also verify assignment, inam, Prohibition of Transfer Act registers and Bhoodan, waqf and endowments land details in required cases,” Mittal said. He said field verifications should also be done by the teams and tahsildars, if required.

Chief minister A Revanth Reddy last week held a meeting with the govt-appointed Dharani committee and revenue authorities and directed them to clear all the pending applications.

Though some applications would be verified and cleared at tahsildar, revenue divisional officer and additional collector level, district collector’s approval is must for important applications such as mutation, succession certificates on assigned lands, grievances related to prohibited properties, pattadar passbooks, nala conversion and data corrections in passbooks such as name change, part land sold, change of land use, missing survey number and correction in land extent.

Though the state govt has asked the collectors and revenue officials to clear the applications, official sources said one week would not be sufficient to clear 2.45 lakh applications. The collectors, who have been asked to monitor the progress of applications, were asked to ensure to protect govt land while disposing of the applications.
