Trichy Corporation Hosts Special Camp for New Underground Drainage Connections, ET RealEstate

TRICHY: Trichy corporation will conduct a special camp at Pandian Mahal on Thanjavur Main Road on Saturday for residential and commercial property owners to apply for new underground drainage (UGD) connections in the areas where phase II of the project has been completed.

The local body has asked applicants to bring property tax payment receipts. Based on the location of the property, it will calculate the user fee and deposit to obtain for the new UGD connection.

The camp which will start at 10am will provide applications for new UGD connections in more than 140 localities in ward 39, 42, and 43 covering Ariyamangalam, Kattur, and Thiruverumbur areas. Initially, the corporation will provide around 5,000 UGD connections and number of connections will be increased gradually in a phased manner till the end of 2024.

In the phase II of UGD implemented at Rs 377 crore, the corporation has completed work for installing pipelines for 287km in 25 wards and setting up a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 37MLD at Keela Kalkandarkottai.
